Library Mission / 圖書館使命.

1. 提供全體師生借閱服務 Memberi perkhidmatan pinjaman dan pulangan bahan bacaan.
2. 增加及多元化館藏資料 Menambah dan mempelbagaikan koleksi bahan bacaan.
3. 辦閱讀及信息素養計劃 Melaksanakan program galakan membaca dan literasi maklumat.
4. 提高校園內的閱讀風氣 Membentuk budaya membaca.
5. 提供最舒適的閱讀環境 Mewujudkan suasana membaca yang ceria dan harmoni.

Milestones / 歷史.

隨著學校C座校舍的建立，恆毅中學於1972年在學校C座三樓開辦一家圖書館。圖書館管理團則於1982年成立。當時僅有42位圖書館管理員，而當年的負責人是謝麗雪女士與助理謝益品小姐。
The school library was established in 1972. Its original premise is located on Level 3 of Block C. The school board of librarians was formed in 1982 with 42 librarians.

1984年 – 本團曾印發一種綠色通行證予高三學生，以方便他們在空節時借書及看書。此通行證最後被取消了。基於學生反應欠佳，本在星期六開放的圖書館的計劃也因此被取消。這年，圖書館管理員必須接受步操訓練。
1984 – The librarian board had since been distributing a green user pass to all Upper Secondary 3 students in enabling students to utilise the library facilities during free periods. The green pass scheme received a cold response and was then withdrawn. Meanwhile weekend services were called off. By the time librarians were required to be trained in foot drill.

1990年 – 本團招收新會員的方式是通過正式管理員的推薦才得以錄取。
1990 – New school librarians were recruited through recommendations by senior librarians.

1994年 – 圖書館在這一年革新，第一次舉辦書展及常年大會。
1994 – The library was revamped. For the first time the librarian board conducted the annual book fair and AGM.

1996年 – 為了滿足學生們的需求，本團又開始實行“週六及假期服務”，以便讓學生能夠擁有更多的閱讀機會。
1996 – In order to satisfy the students’ need, the librarian board once again implemented the weekend and holiday services. This will allow students to spend their free time in the library.

1997年 – 吳碧嬌老師成為顧問老師。首次舉辦歡送會，歡送將要畢業的圖書館管理員。
1997 – Miss Goh became the teacher adviser. For the first time the librarian board organised the farewell party as a thanksgiving event to all outgoing librarians.

1998年 – 圖書館的服務時間是從星期一至星期五，早上八點到下午四點開放；假期和星期六的開放時間則是從早上九點到中午十二點。
1998 – New library hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the weekdays and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays and during school holidays.

2000年 – 黃雲霧老師擔任顧問老師。創辦至今，本團會員增加至108位。
2000 – Mdm Ooi Hon Bu was appointed as the teacher adviser. The total number of members was increased to 108.

2001年 – 管理員升級考試在這年開始實行。實行這個升級考試制度的目的是為了增加管理員對圖書館的認識。此外也要測試圖書館管理員的基本圖書館知識。
2001 – The librarian board started to conduct the annual promotion examination. The aim was to instil basic library knowledge among librarians.

2002年 – 本團廢除由老師或管理員推薦新生成為新管理員的制度而改用面試的方法來錄取新生。
2002 – Instead of being recommended by senior librarians, the librarians board changed its strategy by recruiting new librarians through interviews.

2005年 – 陳秀葉老師擔任本團顧問老師。
2005 – Mdm Tan Siew Eap became the teacher adviser.

2007年 – 本團的顧問老師還特別準備了圖書館管理員訓練課程，以便管理員能夠更有效的管理圖書館。
2007 – Training courses were provided by the teacher advisors to improve library managing skills of the librarians.

2008年 – 陳雅金老師擔任本團顧問老師。圖書館開始為預備班及中一同學推行集體借閱圖書計劃，以提高閱讀風氣。
2008 – Miss Tan Ah Kim served as the new teacher adviser. The library began to introduce bulk loans to Remove and Form 1 students. This was to cultivate reading habits among students.

2009年 – 集體借閱圖書計劃推廣至中二同學。圖書館開始電腦化，以圖書館管理系統(LMS)進行借閱服務，並在當年11月26日完成所有圖書記錄工作。
2009 – The bulk loans programme expanded to Form 2 students. The school library started to computerise with the introduction of Library Management System (LMS) and was fully computerised in November 26th.

2011年9月 – 隨著宏願樓的建竣，圖書館8月開始遷入新校舍二樓，大樓於9月9日正式開幕，當天由檳州首長林冠英先生見證大樓及圖書館的開幕。圖書館隨後於9月12日開始投入服務。
September 2011 – Following the completion of Bangunan Wawasan (Vision Building), the library moved to its new premise on Level 2 of the new building in August. The new school library was officially opened on September 9, 2011 and was officiated by the Chief Minister of Penang, Mr. Lim Guan Eng. The library started to operate in its new premise on September 12, 2011.

2011年12月3日 – 圖書館管理團第一次舉辦『圖書館管理團一日培訓營』，目的是為了提升圖書館管理員的團隊精神及服務水平。
December 3, 2011 – For the first time, the school librarians board organised “Camp Construction 2011”. This was to improve teamwork among librarians.

2013年9月1日 – 圖書館成功設立了面子書頁面。
September 1, 2013 – The school library set up its own Facebook Page.

2013年9月9日 – 逢圖書館兩週年慶，圖書館為了推動閱讀計劃而發動了官方部落格。
September 9, 2013 – The school library’s official blog was launched in conjunction of the second anniversary of the new Heng Ee Library.

2014年4月17日 – 舉辦『快樂閱讀，讓夢想起飛』主題書展。
April 17, 2014 – Organised I-Read Book Fest.

2014年7月13日 – 為了加強圖書館管理員的服務水準，『年度升級考試』制度及訓練課程全面升格，首次舉辦『年度升級文憑』基本圖書館學考試。考試及格的圖書館管理團將獲得升級文憑。
In the effort of improving the librarians’ service performance, the librarians’ examinations system and training modules were revamped. For the first time the Sijil Kenaikan Pangkat (Certificate of Promotion) examinations for Basic Library Science was held. Certificates will be issued to librarians who passed the library exam.

2015年1月12日 – 恆毅中學圖書館自學中心投入運作。
January 12, 2015 – Self Access Learning Centre began operation.

2016年2月19日 – 大英义中学图书馆管理团来访。

2 February,2016 – Penang Free School Board of Librarians visited our library.

2016年4月8日 – 本校图书馆参加了槟州中学卓越资料中心比赛并荣获第二名。

6 April, 2016 – Our school library participated in “Pertandingan Pusat Sumber Pulau Pinang Kategori Sekolah Menengah” and won the 2nd place.

2017年5月4日 – 恒毅中学图书馆参加槟州东北县学校资料中心比赛并获得全体管理员冠军及全槟学校资料中心比赛第三名。恒毅中学图书馆也同时获得马来西亚教育局颁发的数码能力标准证书。

5 April, 2017 – Heng Ee High School Library had participated in ‘Pertandingan Pusat Sumber Daerah Timur Laut Pulau Pinang’ and achieve championship for librarian’s grating and 3rd place for the Penang Library Competition.Heng Ee Library also received Digital Competence Standard Certificate from the Malaysia Ministry Education.

2019年 – 许多国内外学校到访恒毅中学，并跟随团队参观图书馆，天文台及国际少年服务团 Bio-Regen.

1月10日，来自新加坡的美雅中学到访恒毅中学并参观本校图书馆。

2月27日，槟城双溪里蒙中学参观本校图书馆，并与本校图书馆管理员进行交流。

3月28日，砂拉越SMK Batu Lintang与我校大学先修班学生进行交流。

11月21日，新加坡美廉中学到访恒毅中学并参观恒毅中学图书馆。

2019 – There are a lot of visitor troops from local and other country had visited our school library, observatory and Interacts Club’s Bio-Regen.

January 10, Admiralty Secondary School, Singapore visited our Heng Ee High School and have a look of our library.

February 27, Visitor troop of SMK Sungai Nibong had visited our school library and have a communication with our librarians to exchange ideas and experience.

March 28, Visitors from SMK Batu Lintang have a communication programme with our school Sixth Form Society.

November 21, Meridian Secondary School from Singapore visited our school library.
